So, my silence for the last 2+ months has been because I have been really busy with school (there's a big surprise)! But who would have thought that I would break my blog silence by looking for a new layout? Not me. Just thought I would change things up and see if I like it.
what do you all think?
ps...school is good and life is better =0)

Holy Curiosity
My friend Juli is doing a raffle for a book on her blog. If you want entered in the raffle, all you have to do is leave a comment and you'll be entered. You must comment by wednesday.
It sounds like an interest book. It is called, "Holy Curiosity" by Winn Collier. I've never heard of this author, but this is a friend that I really trust when it comes to books. If she says it's good, it's good.
Check out her blog for a chance to win!!!!

Why is President Bush more Christian that President-Elect Obama?
Interesting article about President-Elect Obama. As a Christian, it bothers me that other Christians don't think that Democratic leaders can be Christians as well. It also baffles me that his name and father are enough for people to believe that he is Muslim. I'd love to hear some thoughts from other people out there in the cyber-world!
Praying with the President-elect
Posted: 07:05 PM ET
From CNN Producer Eric MarrapodiCNN)
— Before he delivered his victory speech on Tuesday night in Chicago, President-elect Barack Obama took a call and bowed his head in prayer. Dr. Joel Hunter, pastor of Northland Church in Orlando, Florida and Otis Moss Jr. from Mount Olivet Institutional Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio joined him in that prayer.
Speaking with CNN today by phone, Dr. Hunter says the prayer was intensely personal and private but did say “I prayed for his family and for him and for the country. I had no agenda other than trying to create an environment in which he felt the presence and could receive wisdom from God.” Dr. Hunter, a conservative evangelical who delivered a prayer at the Democratic National Convention this summer, says the President-elect “…feels the weight of this responsibility. He [Obama] doesn’t take upon himself of having to have all the answers but he certainly realizes the huge challenges this nation faces. He feels the personal weight of the potential to guide us through these difficult times. I don’t think he’s oppressed by it though.” Dr. Hunter says he thinks it set in for Obama last night and led to the sober tone of the victory speech.
Evangelicals have long been a force in American politics but many wondered with the defeat of Sen. John McCain what role they will play in the Obama administration. Eric Sapp is one of the founders of The Eleison Group which works specifically with Democratic campaigns to mobilize Christian voters he says, “There is a new generation of white evangelicals. They are less partisan and it all plays to Barack Obama’s favor.” Sapp puts Hunter in that category and thinks the Obama administration will be inclusive of evangelicals. “I think it’s an early indication of the way he’s going to govern. For something as personal as who he wants praying for him is a good indicator of how he wants to be president.”
For Hunter, it wasn’t the first time the two men had prayed together and says the prayer before Obama's speech Tuesday night was in keeping with the next president's character, “Obama is a big picture person. His big picture includes God and he wanted to do that as it’s just the right thing to do at that moment.”

Surreal!!!
What a night. We have stepped into a new era. I think I am still in shock. I hope that Americans can take a step back, from who ever they voted for, and really think about the significance of this election. Look at how divided our country has been for so long.
I can't believe the rallies tonight. It was amazing. Chicago, LA, Atlanta, DC, at least 3 in New York, Syndey (Australia) and even Kenya. When in the history of American, have rallies like that occured because of an election. As Obama finished his speech and CNN cut to views of all of the rallies they had camera's at I really thought I was either watching a movie or dreaming! I can't believe how united people appeared at that moment in time.
We can heal this nation. We CAN heal this land!
On a side note, I have to comment on how ridiculous it is that there are still campaign commercials on TV here in Missouri! Crazy!

My Heart Breaks
Without getting to specific, just know that my heart is broken this week. Not in a physical way, but in a deeply spiritual way. I know that God has brought me to Kirksville for a reason, and that I have always had a passion for HIS lost sheep, but the last week my heart has felt more deeply for the lost than ever before.
I pray that GOD will grant me peace and allow me to focus on the joy set before me and not to dwell on the sadness of those that don't know HIM. Please join me in prayer for the lost souls and rejoice with me that GOD loves to bring people to HIM!!!!!
"In those days and at that time," declares the LORD, "the sons of Isreal will come, both they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the LORD their God they will seek. They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come that they may join themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.
My people have become lost sheep;
Their shepherds have led them astray.
They have made them turn aside on the mountains;
They have gone along from mountain to hill
And have forgotten their resting place.
All who came upon them have devoured them;
And their adversaries have said, 'We are not guilty,
Inasmuch as they have sinned against the LORD who is the habitation of righteousness.
Even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.'"
Jeremiah 50: 4-7

Medical School Confirms God Exists!
Most of you who read this believe in God--not just a "god who is out there somewhere" but believe in God Almighty who sent His Son Jesus so that we can know Him personally. So the title of today's blog may not be that surprising to you.
It always amazes me how God chooses to reveal HIMSELF and (I know this is a very biased statement) but it then amazes me even more when people who see these revelations don't believe in HIS existance.
Let's take my last 2 hours of lecture today. Today was our first anatomy lecture, which was all early embryology (for those of you who don't know what that is, we started at sperm entering the vagina and made it all the way to week 8 of pregnancy)!!! At least 3 times in the first 20 minutes of lecture our professor told us that "magic" is what brings us to the next step. My favorite quote was when a student asked how something started and the professor responded, "If you want to know the answer to that you need to either close your eyes and look inside of you or look up--because only God knows how that works!!!"
Now I don't know this professor's beliefs in anything, but I just had to sit back and Praise God that HE created humans to be so complex and allow us to know as much as we do--while still holding onto HIS mystery and granduer!
I was also humbled today about how God taught me so much more in the last 2 years than I had given HIM credit for. For example, sitting hour after hour just observing what is going on around me and then writing it up---I have had 4 hours of lab so far that have been just that, learning how to observe the body.
I hope to update you all about weekly. I think it will be a good study break. Please continue to pray for my scholarship application. I just have to be patient and wait to hear from the federal government whether or not I will receive an award. I was told "if you get the scholarship we will email you. If you don't, you'll receive an email in October." So I have about 6 weeks before I will hear anythying!
